Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is a American pro basketball player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, after which she was drafted by the Wings as the 5th overall selection of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are her brothers. The parents of her were the ones who spoilt her most due to her being the most young. Gregory was her father. He was involved in her father's army, the Nigerian Army quite a while. Ogunbowale comes from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul as was her brother Dare used to be football player. Ogunbowale won gold medals at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 world Championships, and the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. In July of 2014 she was chosen to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale, who is playing her first season at a collegiate level, was named one of the ACC All-Freshman Team. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for a number of important shots at the NCCA Tournament.
