Bella Poarch was born in the Philippines on the 9th of February 1997 to her biological Filipino parents. Her grandmother was raised in the slums by her biological parents up to 3 years of age. Her adoption was later completed. Her adopted family is comprised up of a Filipino adoptive mother and a white American military veteran. The woman claims that she, her adopted brother and their mother suffered abuse in their childhoods until they joined the military. The family moved to San Francisco for a few months, where they lived with their aunt, before relocating to Texas at the age of thirteen due to her father's requirement to undergo bypass surgery. Her mother says that the physical violence subsided after a short time, however, she had to deal with emotional abuse from her father. At the age of aged 18, she enlisted in the United States Navy. Poarch created her TikTok profile in April of 2020. Within a short time, she had more than 40 million followers. Poarch posted a range of videos, but the one that was most popular was for Millie B's viral smash Soph Aspin Send. It became one of TikTok's most watched videos. The clip zoomed in to show her dancing rhythmically, as well as lip-syncing with the song became a viral hit. As soon as she joined TikTok and became famous Poarch launched a YouTube channel as well as a Twitter account. Poarch's fame peaked around December of 2020. Two big Esports professional teams were reportedly interested in her. FaZe Clan and 100 Thieves were interested to hire her as a content creator under the respective brand names.
